Interferences and Diffraction
Interferences: fundamentals
Abstract:
The module approaches the principle of interferences based on notions related to wave propagation. It presents the formation of interferences from both plane waves and spherical waves. This module also introduces the concepts of the temporal and spatial coherence of light. The case studies focus on the interferences obtained using a Young's slits device with either monochromatic or white light. The exercises test all of the concepts featured in the module.
